"The Small School

that Accomplishes Big Things"

Silver Crest School, in partnership with the greater community, is committed to providing each student with the knowledge and skills essential to becoming a life-long learner and a contributing participant in a changing world community

Message from the Principal

Silver Crest School is a small K-8 school serving a community in the foothills of the Cascades stretching south and east from Silverton, Oregon to Silver Creek Falls State Park. We are proud of our record of academic success, as well as our ability to provide a solid program in music, physical education, and technology. We have a staff 100% committed to making this the best place to prepare a student for life beyond eighth grade. In addition, we are grateful to have considerable support and involvement of parents both during the school day, and in special events and programs such as dinners, fairs, and our latest addition, a greenhouse.

If you are a current Silver Crest family, enjoy these pages as a way to become better acquainted with your school.

If you are researching schools in the Silverton area, please start here, but don't hesitate to contact us for more information about this small school that accomplishes big things.

5th--8th Parent Gradebook Viewer:  Starting today, parents, and students, can see the teacher's gradebook from home over the internet!  If you want to see how your child is doing or check for missing assignments, try it.  Please remember that teachers don't always have every assignment entered into the gradebook, and that sometimes they create a slot for it in the gradebook before they have graded and recorded everything.  AND, you know that the best source of information is the teacher herself.  Please don't hesitate to call or email.  The link will always be found on this page, or you can bookmark it on your browser.  Give us a call or email if it doesn't work for you.  (Your child should have brought home a letter that had your log on and password.)

H1N1 (Swine Flu)

Click the link to the left for information from the Oregon Health Department regarding H1N1, previously called "Swine Flu."  We have been instructed to take care during this time to not be at school sick.  So, if your child, or any staff members, displays characteristics of the flu while at school, we will be sending them home.  At school we are washing desks once per week with a special process and teaching the students proper hand-washing technique.
